Daffodil Delight

A Flowerbug's Color Challenge inspired me to thoughts of Easter and bright yellow daffodils!

LeeAnn Greff has the best ways to challenge and inspire us!

Standard card base in Balmy Blue.
So Saffron layer is 5 1/4 x 4”
The 5 1/4 x 1 1/2” basic gray strip was embossed
with the Honeybee embossing folder.
Basic White 4 3/4 x 3 1/5"

My sky was done using a blending brush and Pacific Point ink pad.
All stamping was done in Basic Gray.
Daffodils and leaves were colored with blends markers.  Each bunch of daffodils has one extra flower that was stamped separately, fussy cut and popped up on a dimensional.
Old Olive Blends were used on the leaves.

It’s cold here in Idaho today, I’m ready for Spring!

Honeybee Home

This was one of my Spring Catalog swap cards.  I used the Honeybee Home stamp set.

Card base is Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and folded

My 2nd layer is 2 Granny Apple Green cardstock die cut with the Stitched Triangle Dies

3rd layer is 3 3/4 x 5" Basic White; I used a Blending Brush and Pacific Point to create the sky.

Flowers were stamped in Soft Suede and all die cut.  I originally tried to stamp some directly onto the sky, but it bugged me that the die cut ones had a border and the stamped ones didn't.  Eventually I decided to die cut all the flowers.  They were colored with Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green water colored pencils and I used an aquapainter.

Miss You was stamped in Memento ink.

Under the Sea Sponged Card

The Sea Life dies make for a beautiful underwater card.

I sponged my background with Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and a bit of Pacific Point.

Seaweed were cut out of Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent Cardstock

The fish was cut out of Basic White cardstock and then sponged with Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya and then Calypso Coral inks.

Card base is Crumb Cake and the 2nd layer is Bermuda Bay.  I added Wink of Stella to the fish!

I Chews You Shaker Cards

Shaker cards are a blast and the new Gumball Greeting stamp set and dies are perfect for an interactive card!

Blue card: Cardstock colors are Basic White, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray & Smoky Slate

Pink Card: Cardstock colors are Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate & Basic White

The gumballs are the Frosted Beads Assortment.

The gumball greetings dies cut out the perfect gumball machine and the perfect space for the Gumball Machine Shaker Domes.  The domes are amazing!  They have peel away sticky paper on both sides of the edges of the dome.  Simply, cut your hole with the die, peel the paper off the front of the dome and center it in the opening.  Fill with Frosted Beads.  Peel the paper off the back of the dome and immediately place a 2 x 2 1/4" piece of scrap cardstock over the whole thing.  This seals the beads in and makes the card easier to work with!

My Grandkids are going to love these cards!  A fun substitution for the beads would be mini M&M's.  If I did that, I would make the M&M's accessible on the inside of the card!

Monochromatic Card Swap

This card was made for a monochromatic card swap.  Monochromatic is challenging for me but I love what I finally came up with!

Card base is Blushing Bride 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" and I ran one end through the Stampin' Cut n'Emboss machine using the Basic Border dies to cut off about an inch and give it a cool edge.

I used the Friendly Hello stamp set which is free with a $100 order during Sale-a-Bration, it also comes with 12 x 12" coordinated paper.  I stamped in Blushing Bride and colored the flower centers in with Wink of Stella.

Layering circles dies made my sentiment and background circle.  The background circle was textured with the gingham embossing folder.  I stamped the images in blushing bride and used a blushing bride marker and wink of stella to color the centers.

The accent DSP on the card inside was cut at 1 1/4" and came from the Pattern Party DSP pack!

The 3/4" white frayed ribbon was my accent, and I adhered it with glue dots.  Glue dots are ribbons' best friend!

Products used are listed below, if you need help ordering, please message me or email me at: knottybirchstudios@gmail.com

Rainbow of Happiness Pop Card

I love color and rainbows are definitely colorful, so when Stampin' Up!© released this set, it was in my first order!  This  card is also made with the Supple Shimmer DSP which comes in rose and pale blue!

This card has a fun Pop component!  Want the details?  Here goes:

Base card is 4 1/4 x 11" in smoky slate.
Next Layer is Pool Party and was textured with the Gingham Embossing Folder.  I also used the Layering Circles Dies to cut a hole in this layer, then I marked where I wanted it on the card base and cut that circle too.
The rainbow pop up piece is smoky slate DSP with the next smaller size circle cut in basic white.  The pop up piece is made by cutting a piece of DSP 2 x 4 1/2"; score it at every inch. Glue into the box shape.  You need an additional strip of paper 3/4 x 2", fold it in half.  Glue one side of this onto the box and the other side onto the back of the rainbow piece.
(I closed the card, put glue on the strip and put the rainbow piece in so that it would line up right.)
Now add the rainbow pieces to the circle, they were cutting using the Rainbow of Happiness dies in Polished pink, Pink Supple Shimmer, Pool Party Supple Shimmer and Pool Party.
If you cut one rainbow out of each color and mix and match, you end up with 4 rainbows!
I used Polished pink and basic white strips for the sentiment on the front and stamped it with the "You make me happy" sentiment in Polished Pink.
I stamped the inside with "A little something to brighten your day".
