My Favorite Evergreen card - Shades of Silver

This gorgeous background was sponged in Fresh Freesia Ink Pad and Night of Navy Ink Pad onto Basic White Cardstock.  The trees were punched with the Evergreen Elegance Border Punch in our 3  Silver Foil Specialty Paper.  I put the darkest in the back and worked to the lightest and brightest silver foil.  I put a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock across the bottom.

It's hard to see in the full photo, but I heat embossed the sentiment in Silver Embossing PowderBasic Rhinestones added some starts to the night sky.

I stamped one of the trees from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set 3 times inside the card in Night of Navy, stamping once with full strength ink and then immediately stamping 2 more times without reinking.

This is my FAVORITE card using this bundle - - - - so far!

Evergreen Elegance is simply beautiful

This stamp set is so gorgeous, it needs very little to make a beautiful card!

I used a  Evening Evergreen card base, it measures 5 1/2 x 11, scored at 4 1/4".  The next layer is Soft Succulent cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 4".  The Basic White cardstock is 5 x 3 3/4" and I cut 2 of those, one for the outside and one for the inside.  The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on a scrap of white and I use a 3/8" strip of the Rose Gold paper to set it off.

I stamped the snowflakes in Pool Party Ink using the Snowflake Wishes stamp set.  The trees were stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink, I stamped and then immediately stamped again to get the lighter trees.  So Beautiful!  Holiday rhinestones added a bit of sparkle to the card!

The inside was fun to do!  I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen.  Then I used the Evergreen Border punch to punch out the trees.  Here's the fun part, after being punched, run the strip of trees through the cut and emboss machine using an embossing folder to add some texture.  I used the 3D Bark embossing folder.  Doesn't it make the trees look more real?  I love it!  *Thanks to Marilyn Roll for the fun tree texturing idea!

Evergreen Elegance

I love the Evergreen Elegance stamp set and coordinating punch!  It is extremely versatile, able to create cards and projects from cute and fun to elegant!  These samples were created by the Stampin' Up Design team.  Close ups of each are below!

This fun colored card reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas when Lucy tells Charlie Brown to get a Big Pink Aluminum Christmas tree!  The colors are delightful and I love the rainbow effect on this slimline card!

Unusual tree colors bring images of a peaceful and dusky evening in the woods

The trees in this card are punched and add delightful texture to this card!

Mr. Frankie Treat Box

Frankie is back!  This year he’s in a curvy box!  The box is made with the Curvy Keepsake Dies, which is retired.

To make Frankie, cut out 2 Curvy Keepsake box dies in Granny Apple Green.  Fold and use a bone folder on the score lines snd glue the bottom together.

Using a 1” strip of blank, cut bangs with scissor.  Use 3 1/2” piece, cut the top slot tabs of the treat box again in black.  Cut freehand into hair and adhere all clack hair to the box.

Eyes are 3/4” white circles punched, blue is cut with 1/2” circle punch.  A hole punch cuts the black pupil and a dot of white from a paint pen adds the sparkle.

His nose is from a 1” oval punch and is popped up with dimensionals.  I drew his smile and acts on with a marker.

I punched a side hole with a sharp tip and put a Brad in each side.  I bent the inside of the Brad flat snd taped it with a small piece of packing tape. Isn’t he fun?

Christmas Center Flap Fun Fold

I love this cheerful card!  The Fun Fold is called the Center Flap Fold.  The striped DSP is from the Gingerbread and Peppermint DSP and I stamped my own DSP - the piece with the plaid trees!  I tend to forget that I can do that!

Here are the measurements for this Fun Fold Card:

Granny Apple Green Cardstock

    Cut 1 piece at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"

    Cut 1 piece at 3 x 5 1/2"

    Cut 1 piece at 1 x 4 3/4" - this is the flap

Scalloped circle bigger than 1 3/4"

Basic White Cardstock

    Cut 1 piece at 2 3/4 x 4" for the card insides

    1 3/4" circle

DSP

    1 piece at 4 x 5 1/4"

1 piece at 2 3/4 x 5 1/4" or same size in basic white cardstock to stamp your own DSP

To make my own DSP, I used the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and stamped the plaid tree in Granny Apple Green, the pinecones in Crumb Cake and then I felt it needed a bit of red.  I chose to use the tiny Santa's Hat stamp from the Banner Year stamp set.

To put the card together, put the center flap across the center front of the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" Granny Apple Green Cardstock.  Move it so hangs over the edge of the card by 3/4", bend that section around the card and then glue it to the left, center edge of the card.

Adhere your DSP onto all pieces that are just slightly bigger than they are.  This covers a good portion of the flap strip and helps make it steady.  Cut the end of the strip into a banner.  Add the 2nd piece of cardstock with DSP to the center of the card and glue TO THE FLAP only!  You don't want to glue the card shut!

The sentiment inside the card and Merry Christmas were stamped in Real Red.   I also stamped the holly leaves from the Banner Year set in Granny Apple Green Ink.  I added Red Rhinestones for the holly berries.  Overall I really liked the way this card turned out!

Card Front

Inside of the card

This adorable card was made with the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set!  Card base is 5 1/2 x 11" Cinnamon Cider Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".  2nd layer on the front panel is 5 1/4 x 4" Early Espresso Cardstock.  Cut 2 pieces of Basic White Cardstock measuring 5 x 3 3/4".  One is for the front and one for the inside of the card.  Squirrel outlines and tree branches were stamped in Early Espresso Ink, as were the sentiments.  The 2nd squirrel stamps were done in Cinnamon Cider.  His underside was colored with a Light So Saffron blends marker.  The leaves were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and then stamped a 2nd time to get the light color variation.  Acorn was colored with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blend Markers. The circles on the front were cut with 1 1/4 and 1 1/2" layering circle dies.  I added Cherry Cobbler rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones!

Turtley Awesome Faux Pocket Card

To make this card, you need a Flirty Flamingo Cardstock (Item #141416) Card Base cut at 4 1/4 x 11", score at 5 1/2".  Cut from score line to the opposite corner to get the triangle piece.  You'll need a piece of DSP that measures 4 x 5 1/4", cut it in half on the diagonal.  Glue the DSP onto the cardstock.

The front piece is 2 1/2 x 3 3/4".  Stamp whatever image you would like on it.  I chose to use the Turtle Bundle (Item #155819)!  I stamped the turtle onto Basic White Cardstock (Item #159276) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad (Item #132708).  I also stamped a 2nd turtle onto a piece of patterned DSP.  I colored the turtle using Light Old Olive Blends (Item #154892) and Light Daffodil Delight Blends (Item #154883) markers.  I fussy cut the shell out of the DSP and adhered it to the turtle.  His cheek got a splash of color from a Real Red Watercolor Pencil (Item #141709).  The bird and sentiment were stamped in Night of Navy Ink Pad (Item #147110).

The white inside piece is 2 1/4 x 3 3/4", you can make it bigger, but it doesn't show if it's this size.

I chose to use the Pattern Party Host DSP (Item #155426)!

This Little Piggy Brought Treats!

I recently enjoyed a day with my grandchildren.  During this day we played the game “This little piggy . . .”  It was fun and I started having them fill in the blank, this little piggy __________”.  Answers ranged from eating Raspberries to went to a football game.  Well this little piggy brings treats!

My extremely talented friend, Marilyn Roll, showed me how to make these when I visited North Dakota recently.  Hers was Halloween themed, I made mine with the Harry Potter-ish pig from the Joyful Life stamp set!

You start with the Acetate Card Boxes (item # 144628).  Cut these in half to get 2 boxes.  Using a piece of cardstock measuring 4 3/8 x 5 1/2”, score at 2 7/8 & 3 1/2”.

I used Basic Black Cardstock (Item # 121045) for mine.  I added a piece of black & white cardstock from the Patterned Party DSP (Item # 155426), it measured: 4 1/8 x 1 3/4”. (The Pattern Party DSP is a huge pack of paper, brightly colored on one side and black and white on the other.  It has 48 12x12" sheets and is $18 with a $150 order - it's a host benefit!)

The piggy from Joyful Life Stamp Set (Item #156529)was stamped in Jet Black Stazon (Item #101406) on Basic White Cardstock (Item #159276) and cut out with a layering oval die (retired).  I colored with Stampin' Write Markers, pig was colored in Petal Pink with Calypso Coral ears.  His cheeks were colored with a Calypso Coral watercolor pencil.  The sentiment was stamped in Calypso Coral Ink Pad (Item #147101)on a scrap strip of basic white and mounted on a slightly larger strip of basic black.

The closure is a Velcro dot, I found these in the craft department at my local Wal-mart.  A regular sized Kit Kat fits wonderfully. Wouldn’t this be a fun gift for your friends (or grandkids)?

Brights Stampin' Write Markers (Item #147157)

Pastels Stampin' Write Markers (Item #147156)

Watercolor Pencils (Item #141709)

Watercolor Pencils - my favorite way to add color!

I made this beautiful card in 2018.  This stamp set has always been a favorite because the flower is so fun to color with watercolor pencils!

Below you’ll find a YouTube video of me showing how to watercolor these beautiful flowers.  Big thanks to my friend, LeeAnn Greff from Flowerbugs Inkspot on Facebook for recording this video and to her hubby, Andy for editing it!
